  • Heating System Tips from Delta

Many times, a visit from our technician isn’t even necessary. Check out these heating system tips to see if you can diagnose a simple problem, and please call our staff with any questions you have. We’re more than happy to help solve your problems.

  • Tip #1: Check the Settings
With so many things to keep in mind, you may forget to check the settings of your system. Ensure the system is set to “on,” the fan to “auto,” and the temperature is programmed to suit the season.

Tip #2: Check the Furnace Switch
The furnace switch is on the unit and looks just like a regular light switch. If it’s in the Off position, then you’ve probably found the problem. Switch the system on to use your HVAC system.

Tip #3: Change the Furnace Filter
Many problems can be solved simply by changing the furnace filter. A dirty filter reduces air quality, decreases efficiency and makes your system work harder.

Tip #4: Check the Circuit Breaker
If your system is working too hard to heat your home, it may overheat and cause a tripped circuit breaker. If this is the case, give your system time to cool and call a professional before switching it on.
